Video Upload Test

Bought a new video camera for my trip to Africa. I took a 30 second test video to make sure I know how to upload and that everything works. Please let me know if you cannot view it. The video is a little wobbly, but that will get better as I use it more often.

Six Weeks!

There are six weeks until I board a plane for Cape Town, South Africa! I'm so excited. Just under a year ago I was sitting on the Rapid bus heading back to my apartment in downtown Grand Rapids from Allendale where I was thinking about doing a volunteer project after graduation. It was that night I decided to volunteer abroad through CCS to Cape Town. I have fulfilled a dream I've been working on for the past year and I am thrilled to go. I still have one last batch of donated pop cans to return to Meijer this weekend, one more trip to the Salvation Army for some t-shirts, and shopping for an inexpensive video camera. In just over two weeks I'll be going to New Mexico and I'll use that as a test run through security and what I want/can bring in my carry-on. I'm still debating about which bag to use as a carry-on so NM will be a great test run.

In the mail today I received a backpack from the Detroit Lions signed by #6, Dan Orlovsky for bidding. I had planned on having an auction, but that never really came into fruition. I have a few tickets to auction and this bag. I will probably send some emails to people who I think might want the bag/tickets and see what they will donate for it. If anyone is interested, email me at southafricaccs@katdavis.net.
