First Fundraising Deposit!

My mom and I took the first round of returnables from Athens to Meijer, this afternoon. There were about 475 cans from the first week of the can drive! Nearly $50! The Environmental Club at Athens will donate all of the returnables to me as long as someone is willing to separate the returnables from the recyclables. My family has volunteered to do that while I'm finishing my last semester at Grand Valley.

My first fundraising check came from a teacher, Mrs. Rademacher, for $20. Together, the Athens pop cans, a stock dividend check and my family's pop cans, I deposited $97.20 into my South Africa Fund at the bank today! I'm so excited and thankful!


In total, I have $275 in my South Africa account! Thanks to everyone so far and keep donating!
